Costco finds – back to school edition!

As you all probably know by now, I love a good Costco trip! Luckily, running out of meat and back to school dates coincided for me to go just at the right time.

I bought the usual good deals, such as the individually-packaged chicken (breasts were $7 off per package!) and canned salmon. I also bought more individually packed snacks than usual since now both kids will be in school all day. I found the prices for Goldfish, Veggie Straws, and Pirate’s Booty to be better than what I get at the regular grocery store. The Veggies Made Great spinach egg white frittatas were on sale. I definitely recommend keeping those around when you are running late and want a healthy start to your day!

I wanted to share 3 new finds that I had not purchased before. I imagine some of them are seasonal, so get them while they last!

  1. Ello reusable food storage bags. As I was buying all the snacks for my kids, I realized that I was also going to send lots of sandwiches and fruits. We use small plastic containers for some things but not everything fits. I like that there are lots of different size options and price was definitely right at $9.99. I also love the print and colors of each bag. I have not used them yet, so will update you in a future post or Instagram story if they don’t work as well as one would want.

2. ThermoFlasks. I don’t know about your kids, but mine lose or break their water bottles constantly. Costco was selling two-16 oz. ThermoFlask bottles for $12.99! I just bought my children plastic Minecraft water bottles that can easily break at any moment for $10 each, so this is a great deal. The bottles are made of Stainless Steel. They had a few different color options and my children love blue and red, so it worked out well. We are keeping them as back up for now since they just got their new water bottles mentioned above but I am wondering if I should go back and get some for myself.

3. Ziploc gallon size freezer bags. This is not necessarily a new product but I learned while making my freezer meals that they have a new feature. They now come with a flat bottom that you can “fold and fill” as instructed on the bag. I tried them out and they actually do stand once you have some food in there. They won’t stand up on their own prior to this, but they worked well for me. I was thinking of purchasing those standers that you can prop the bags in while you make your meals and with this feature, I won’t need that. Highly recommend!

Wishing everyone an easy and seamless back-to-school transition if you haven’t started yet. I know we are ready for school to start again.
